Track Layout Software?

Postby Flytoo » Tue Jul 08, 2014 10:22 am

Does any S/W exist, that enables a person to do track layouts? I had one a few years ago, that did this very thing but the PC I had it on died and that was the end of it. The one I had (can't recall its name or who made it?), was free. I think they did offer a more robust version that they charged for, but please don't quote me on that. Anyway, I'd love to have something, that's easy to use; works for all of the various track systems such as Carrera, Ninco, etc. AND of course free, is always good. However, I would consider buying S/W, if the price is reasonable. Your help, will be appreciated.

Thank you! That's the one I used to have...good ol' Ultimate Racer. However, it appears to only run on Windows machines? I forgot to mention, I now have a Mac.

If you are interested in setting up a Carrera track, I use this software designed for both Mac and PC. I use it on all my Macs and it is really very good. The designer in Germany is very helpful and answers questions right away. Download the free demo Mac version and have loads of fun. If you have any questions, I can help.

I also use Ultimate Racer on my Mac using Parallels with Windows XP, works well too. But, the Autorennbahnplaner just works better and is only for Carrera track which my RS Bergrennen track will be based off of. I'm sure the resident routed track monkeys are going to steal my banana and make me convert soon… :banana-dance: and then I can design that in Adobe Illustrator.

Thanks a lot for all of the good info studioRS! I really would like to find S/W that does multiple track systems. I currently have Ninco track but, that may not always be the case? Who knows? Great tip about using Parallels with Windows XP on your Mac!
