I have raced my Toyota 88C very hard on our club track and as of yet have suffered no wing damage. I do believe it sets further down than the one on the Sauber.

Well, I got my Minolta Toyota today and I must say it is striking. The wing looks pretty tough and like Marty said my Taka-Q Toyota after heavy racing has suffered no wing damage. I can't wait to get down to the track and put some test laps on this beauty..

Well, after it cooled down earlier this evening I went down to DeBary Glen and tried out my new Toyota 88C. One of the things that impresses me the most about slot.it cars is the quality of the assembly of the cars straight from the factory. This one is one of their best. No loose or missing parts and lt could have been raced right out of the jewel case. After the initial check out laps I made a few adjustments, spacing the rear tires out to maximum legal track just inside the fenders, oiling the bushings and adjusting the braids. I also sanded the rear tires on my test block just a tad. So far I haven't even removed the body from the chassis. Anyway I then put the car on the track for some practice laps. The stock tires have very good grip and may not get replaced with PG tires. I then ran some laps with the lap timer turned on and recorded several laps in the 6.4s and one lap of 6.38 seconds which is one of the fastest from my group c cars. My Taka=Q car is set up for plastic track sporting a set of super tires silicones and is my fastest group c car on plastic. I eagerly anticipate Marty's next visit so we can do some group c testing on mdf.

Got mine this past weekend and did all my standard preparation:

* Glued & trued urethane tyres
* Soft braid
* Setscrews on the front axle, set the stance and height up properly
* Loosened the pod a touch, taped for dampened movement
* Body float

To me this car ticks all the boxes for going fast. I will be taking it to our regular Friday night racing this week but I will go out on a limb and predict that this will be closer to my Slot.it McLaren lap times (three of them, average around 7.5 sec) than my Porsche 956 lap times (3 of them, average just under 8 sec).

Thanks guys for the info. I agree, about Slot It cars, I haven't met one yet, that I haven't really liked! I think they are the most realistic driving cars, right out of the box. Enjoy!

Love These Cars Handle Real Well After My Tune Ups, Times on My Track are competitive Compared To My Other Slotit Cars, Needs a little more break in time and They Should Run 5.8 to 6.1Lap Times on my 120 Foot Ninco track!!

Got mine a couple of days ago and it's still in the box. :cry: I've been focusing on my maintenance "To Do" list. I know, if I was to take that 88C, out its box, there would be no more maintenance list items checked off, for a good long while!

I meant to ask this many days ago and then got sidetracked and forgot.

I'm guessing that there were two different 1:1 versions of this car? One long tail, and another with a shorter tail? Or were these 2 offerings, for model cars only?

The red and white Denso car has the short tail. It was a actual race car. I think the red Minolta car is a special edition that slot it made for the slot car festival.
