At long last... Group5 VW!

Postby DaveKennedy » Thu Jul 10, 2014 9:19 am

Eagerly awaited and I can say since i've inspected the car from every angle and it's really a nicely done model. It's a prototype and has no wiring inside or motor so i cannot give you a performance report on it.

This red/orange car will be available only in digital... BUT... there's an equally cool looking blue car we're releasing in both digital and analog. Sorry i don't have a sample to shoot of that car yet.

Outstanding. Now send it here, I'll wire it up and give a full report. It's a huge burden on me, but for you? Anything.

Thanks for posting this.

Dave,

If Harry can't get it wired and tested, I certainly can.

Hey, no offense, but I would much rather see that in my hands then yours!

When do you think they we have a status change from "Prototype" to "Product"?

Once we have a painted prototype like this it's VERY close to production. Scheduled arrival is week 38 of this year... about the end of Sept at the earliest I'd say.

On a more serious note, I have to say I like this idea. We sometimes complain about manufacturers not being creative and having multiple releases of the same old car.

Well, not in this case. I do not even like VW's that much but I like this car. That side view is impressive. Our driver looks like he is working hard, very nice touch.

Look forward to this car. I feel it will make a great series.

Realistic. I can tell you, if he's at speed in a Beetle and steering through turns at the same time, he IS working hard!

Have to admit I'm not a big "aircooled" VW guy but every time I see a picture of these something inside says "you need one".

Glad these have been so well received guys... was inspired to take a photo of cars that have similar proportions what we've done in the recent past... and maybe future :)

What a fantastic looking model.

And check out that honkin' big V8 behind the driver!

Can hardly wait for this one.
