I am lucky enough to also have the car. It really is attractive and the video that VCR has posted does it justice.
Having a couple of scratch builds of the D50, and not havi g seen it with the front wings, I was curious as to its history so did some surfing to see what I could find.
It appears that this car was a normal D50 with a front wing assembly added in order to keep up with the streamline Mercedes, I think 196s. So with the T designation it set out at Reims for testing.
Unfortunately the front wings did not function according to plan, and during practice , qualification, and race day the car resorted to the standard D50 styles. Of course Ferrari did their thing in Reims and ran extremely well without the aero package.
So this car not only looks great, but is even more special by virtue that it never raced in this configuration.
Carrera has produced a rare car, and have done a very nice job on it.
It is definitely one for the shelf , and taken for the odd Sunday drive on a nice sunny day.
Your mother in law must think a lot of you VCR.
