Hey NUTS, after spending a lot of time (and wine) with the locals, the populace is so behind my Ferrari team that they have assured me that they have spike strips in hand in case you decide to make a serious challenge. :auto-layrubber: \

Looks like the boys will need to consider upgrading to Run Flats!
All I know is our driver plans to make that Porsche about 3 cars wide - so good luck getting by us if you loose the battle off the line!

When everything was ready for the races , suddenly a heavy rain began to fall and the race Director decided to postpone it to the weekend . (Actually was not the reason  ).

Anyway on a extremly hot day here at Sicily´s mountains the round began!

#79 Cesc Motorsport (Porsche956) vs #- Thunda Down Unda (A Model Ford)

The Porsche was not performing as expected there was a hard noise coming from the gears, and the team was unable to solve it.
On the other hand the Ford eas fast and smoth, two easy victories for Thunda Down Unda!

#16 Oregon Donors (Ferrari Daytona) vs #12 Racing Bandit (Chevrolet Corvette)

The Vette toke the lead from the begining till the end, having the Ferrari some electric problems from lap two
On the second race, solved the problems at the Ferrari, while leadsing the race, Oregon Donorr´s driver loose control and get air borne finishing over the barriers!
Racing Bandit just haved to finish the race to win.

#2 T County Lug Nuts (Porsche 917) vs #2 Dave´s Dollies (Ferrari 512 M)

What a race! side to side action, people unable to know which driver passed first the finish line. The photo finish showed both cars whith the same time, a draw!

On the next two races , anyway, T County´s Porsche was able two beat twice the Ferrari, only for a fraction of a second but enought to win both races!

#21 Slothead Racing (Ford Capri) vs #- CAT Racing (Chevrolet Vega)

Slothead performance was excelent but was nothing he can do to beat an extratosferic Chevy!!!
Two victories for CAT Racing and fast lap of the event at the moment.

Next races will be (race times sets the races, best against worst);

BATTLE FOR 5th

Slothead Racing (Ford) vs Cesc Motorsport (Porsche)

Dave´s Dollies (Ferrari) vs Oregon Donors (Ferrari)

SEMIS

CAT Racing (Chevrolet) vs Thunda Down Unda (Ford)

Racing Bandit (Chevrolet) vs T County Lug Nuts (Porsche)

Yes, it was a crushing defeat for the Ford (Mercury) Capri to lose to a Chevy, but company execs were very happy to see the Model A be victorious while both Ferrari's floundered. We look forward to the Ford Model A being on top of the podium spraying champagne on us to wash away our tears.

Our driver definitely did his part - that Porsche was taking up the WHOLE road!
I'm sure the Ferrari Team will be treated like kings by the locals just the same - as it was a heck of a race!
Now another strong rivalry - Porsche verse Chevy! :o

Team Thunda is most impressed by the performance of the Model A, especially in the hot conditions, taking out a Porsche is also good for the ego! Our driver may just need a bigger helmet for round 2 against the Chevy, the traditional opponent.

Official Protest: I'm requesting the tech team to inspect the Model A for any illegal mods. There is no way that should run the way it did. :angry-tappingfoot:

After our win in the second round the Capri was back in the good graces of the Ford execs and we were invited to the big victory celebration in the company tent for the Model A which has it's sights set on the top position.

How fitting a Ford and Chevy (American iron) will be in the championship race. It seems many of the local ladies are now making goo-goo eyes at the American drivers and team members.

The Bandit was very pleased to be heading into the finals. Team manager Ben Razin was overheard telling several reporters that the Bandit seemed to more excited about the wheel-to-wheel action than the actual win. "For as long as I have known Bandit, he has always enjoyed the thrill of racing. Don't get me wrong, he loves winning! He just enjoys matching his driving skills against other drivers even more."

Thank you Oregon and Lug nuts for a great races and good luck Thunda Down Unda! Looking forward to some great racing.

Is there anything that can curb the Dollie's rearward slide? This was supposed to be our swansong but it's turned into my nightmare. The Ferrari just didn't respond to our traditional tuning. Time to think outside the box and stop the bleeding for one last go.

Team Thunda are still very impressed with the outstanding build quality of the A model, its handling is impeccable and power to weight ratio amazing, lucky for us not too much damage from the mistake in heat 2.
The final will no doubt be an exciting one. Think some of the locals were going crazy for the Aussie accent
