I should have listened to you Harry. Probably would have looked better just doing the roof in the darker blue. But here are the results. Never rush a paint job. Decals and Clear in the Morning. Maybe that will help it out some. Hopefully the wheels will arrive tomorrow by 1 and can get this in the mail to be there Saturday. If not it will be there Monday.

Decals on. First set I've ever made. I may should have sprayed the sealer on a tad heavier. Color loss in the car number. But the rest came out OK. Red number was not visible on the top so I left it off. Tried making white letters but the hobby shop here only had transparent decal paper. I guess you need white paper for the white number to be seen or am I mistaken? OK waiting on the postal person to deliver my wheels. Finish the chassis and get this in the mail. Um not sure if I tried painting the chassis it would be dry by 7 so it may look rough.

Harry -
My Mustang is hard chargin' for Missouri as we speak! I went with the USPS "guaranteed delivery by 3pm Saturday" - so she should be good to go for the round-up! :D
It hasn't turned a lap yet - as I had a friend from out of state drop in to visit unexpectedly and didn't get a chance to get it to the track to do any testing before shipping her out. Hopefully she's a well behaved pony - and not a buckin' bronco!
Looking forward to seeing her join the field while I get back to work on the '57 for a later shipment. :)

Arrold -
Those decals look great! If you hadn't have said anything, I wouldn't have guessed that was your first attempt at making a set.

UPDATE
Package arrived in Nashville at 10:31 AM to late to get on the carriers Jeep. So instead of getting it today I guess it will now be tomorrow. So I can't get the car there Saturday it doesn't appear. I thought USPS had Express Mail but I don't see it on their website. To Next Day Air UPS Saturday would cost me a arm and a leg. Plus I would need your street address Harry. So looks like my car will get there Monday. I'll check the UPS Rate but if its over $25 it will be coming USPS at $5.56.

Thanks for the comments about the decals. To print white do you need white paper?

Arrold, don't beat youself up. Like I said, I will run your car when it gets here. Just send it regular mail, no need to pay that kind of money.

Point is you built it and hopefully had fun doing it :) Looks great to me.

Todd,
Man that Mustang look wicked!!!!!!!

OK Harry I'll breath a little and get it in the mail when all the parts get here. I should have decide earlier to enter this but since I'd never built a chassis was a little hesitant. Burnt up some more brass this afternoon. I'll start over on the chassis. I think the torch is overkill. Going to buy an iron tonight. Then it just may be me. Trying to get all the tubes straight and together is a challenge. Even pinned it down to a ceramic block. But I'm not giving up. Surely I can get this.

OK now I know why my soldering was burning up the brass. Re-read the Mustang build. It was easy soldering the motor mount to the rail no big deal. But I was putting the heat all over the place on the small parts. Add flux heat the part, move heat to one end solder on the other end, solder will flow toward heat. Maybe I can get this right this time around.
