Project: 70's Sportsman Camaro

My oldest son Christopher starting on the Scalextric Camaro Short Tracker. This is our next mold.

Ahh,, it`s about time somebody did this year camaro in a oval racer. Thought I was gonna have to break out the tools myself, looking forward to possibly getting a couple of these !

Yes, it's fun to watch.

Today we started on adding a front spoiler.





A face only a scratchbuilder can love? Maybe not.



Once we sanded the spoiler, my son decided we needed wider, more pronounced flares. So we followed the procedure we used on the Buick.



Ones the plastic was glued and shaped a little, we poured the resin over them.





Need another coat and plenty of sanding, but getting there. AND the best part is, my son did it on his first try.

Couple days of primer and wet sanding. Seems to be ready for the silicone soup.









Time to start the tape and mold box.

Congrats to my son for doing a great job his first time out. I am sure it will make a cool slot car.
