Great update!
Thank you for including the pictures of all the cars (verses stock photos) and shots of the tracks that they will be running on!

Thank you to all that made this proxy happen, great job everyone. Congrats to Ember and TuscoTodd for rounding out the podium. It will be interesting to see how things shake out on the rest of the tracks. Hopefully Czar has some driving impressions along with those photo's.

The placings didn't even sink in when I saw them earlier. D'oh.

Congrats on the first round podium Reek. I seem to recall chasing you once before with a different brand of car in a different style of proxy. :)

Congrats to Tod for the bottom step. (And nice track you'll be driving the cars on next).

Trying to get a little something extra for the prize pool into the mail in the next couple of days.

LOL! I looked through all the pictures - but missed the fact that the results that were posted were the RACE results! (for some reason I had it in my head that those were qualifying numbers)
Congratulations reek455 and Ember on the podium positions! Definitely some close racing - with a lot of the lap totals being only a tenth or two apart, it looks like it is going to be a great series!
Appreciate you guys putting this together!

Congratulations to all racers and our podium finishers. Czar thanks to all who made this first round a success. Now let's get that 575 up front!!!!!!!!!

1.6 laps behind 2nd place, 1.2 laps behind 3rd but 3.5 laps from 1st. Wonder if this is because of deslots or is my motor down on power?

Interesting to know if it's the tires or someting else effecting performance, since I think I'm one of the few running SuperTires vs Paul Gage. We'll find out as the series progresses.

Thanks again,
Arrold

It would be interesting to know what tyres people are using actually. Mine are MJK urethane of local manufacture. I didn't have time to get PGs so went for my previous favourites.

It will be interesting to hear "feedback" from Burrell / Czar on driving impressions - but it would also be interesting to hear what everyone used for tires.
(updated to add finishing position, and tire type info)

Race #1
1. Reek 455... 49.4 laps - Paul Gage XPG 20 shor compound ?
2. Ember... 47.5 - MJK urethane
3. Tusco Todd... 47.1 - Paul Gage PGT 40 shor compound
4. Aaroldyn... 45.9 - Super Tires
5. Manchvegasracer... 45.0 - Paul Gage XPG
6. Bibbster... 44.8 - Paul Gage XPG
7. Burrell... 44.6 - Paul Gage XPG
8. Ventura Alfa... 41.6 - Paul Gage - not sure if PGT or XPG
9. Czar... 37.4 - ?
10. Baford 1... 37.3 - stock Carrera

What is everyone else running? Any Ortmanns or stock Carrera tires?

updated to add additional info

I think mine were the XPG's but I've bought both kinds so hard telling what actually got used where.

Thank you for the additional info guys - I have added it to my summary post on tire type used (above).
Should make for an interesting comparison!

Results, statistics

Postby Czar » Sun Jul 27, 2014 1:04 pm

More Analysis from the Abecedarian Proxy
I know everyone is waiting for more information on the first round of the ABC Proxy, so here are some more statistics. I will save my personal comments on the cars for later in the week. (Really, if I put everything in one thread you would read it and then be done. This way the excitement and thrill can live in your imagination for several more days, and you can build our own theories about the greater meaning of the results.)

Weight was not a real factor. While all but one of the cars had weight added the differences in weight were enough to make it a marginal factor. Baford's finish was due to other factors than weight. All of the cars were weighed after the technical inspection. Here is a breakdown by finish order: Reek 55, 100 grams; Ember,106 gr; Tusco Todd, 104 gr; Aaroldyn, 99 gr; Manchvegas, 98 gr; Bibbster, 90 gr; Burrell, 93 gr; Ventura Alfa, 100 gr; Czar, 91 gr; Baford1, 115 gr.

Drivers had different levels of experience and skill, so we kept the same driver for each lane and rotated the cars through. Car pairings were selected at random and marshals helped at each race. Here is a breakdown of laps in each lane.

Blue (outside lane) Reek55... 26.1 laps; Ember... 24.6; Tusco Todd... 24.2; Aaroldyn... 23.9; ManchVegas... 23.2; Bibbster... 23.3; Burrell... 22.1; Ventura Alfa... 22.1; Czar... 20.5; Baford1... 19.0. ***Blue lane is: 58 feet, 5 inches ... 17.82 meters

Red (inside lane) Reek55... 23.2 laps; Ember... 22.9; Tusco Todd...22.9; Aaroldyn... 22.0; ManchVegas...21.8; Bibbster... 21.5; Burrell... 22.5; Ventura Alfa... 19.5; Czar... 16.9; Baford1...18.3. *** Red lane is: 54 feet, 5 inches ... 16.6 meters

Fast lap Blue Ember... 8.783 seconds; Reek55... 8.861; Aaroldyn... 8.989; Burrell... 9.137; ManchVegas... 9.216; Bibbster... 9.567; Tusco Todd... 9.621; Czar...9.742; Ventura Alfa... 9.894; Baford1...10.603

Fast lap Red Aaroldyn...9.258 seconds; Burrell... 9.328; Bibbster... 9.507; Reek55... 9.509; Ember... 9.609; ManchVegas...9.638; Tusco Todd...9.720; Ventura Alfa... 10.643; Czar... 11.221; Baford1... 11.268

(Sorry, I tried to post this as tables, but it wouldn't keep the spacing)

As you can see from the pictures on the opening page, my track is very technical. There is only one long, high speed straight. More thoughts to come in a few days.
