Congrats to bibbster on the race win and to arroldn on overall win. Great job everyone, this was a fun proxy. Thanks to the good folks at Slot Car Corner for the final bonus round. I didn't expect my car to do well on that track but what do I know? I'm very pleased with the surprise second place finish. Any car/driving impression are always welcome.

Regards
Rico

We did have a BLAST with these cars.
As some of you know, I'm mainly a silicone tire guy, so to race cars with urethane tires is a bit different for me. That being said, I've gotten to like driving certain types of cars with urethane tires (jaloopas for example :D ). Since we had just driven the jaloopas for over 1000 laps the night before, I had a good idea what to expect from these cars. While I was able to get a good "feel" for most of the cars, Bibbster's Porsche and I "hit it off", so to speak. The car was perfectly balanced for the way I liked to drive, and why it got the quickest laptime and also why it won overall. Not bragging, mind you, as the other guys did a fabulous job of driving. It's just when a guy "clicks" with a certain car... look out! :auto-driving:

Reek, your Vette ran well here. The other drivers commented it was a really smooth car to run. Josh especially liked it. But when I drove it, I just couldn't get it to run like Josh did when he qualified with it. I'm guessing it was my driving style didn't "connect" with your car for whatever reason. That being said, I don't think I had any off's with it, so it had to be a pretty decent car (specially since it's a Chebby  )
Arrold-a couple guys commented your car was "boring" to drive. By that, it meant it was easy to drive compared to the other cars, and I believe that's a good thing for most racers. If the car isn't giving any "surprises" while your driving it, most guys can turn in some good results with cars like that. And it shows, as it looks like your the overall winner. Congrats there :banana-dance:

Baford1-We really, really tried to get your Furrie to run better. Moving the motor wires did help some (we were able to complete laps without falling off), but the rear tires just wouldn't come around, even after adding oil (which usually helps tremendously). One of the tires has hardened up to the point of no return. We even tried given them a quick sanding to get to some "fresh" rubber, but that didn't help as much as we hoped. Sorry dude...

The guys at SCC do thank everyone involved for letting us run these cars. We really did enjoy running them!! :music-rockout:

What an awesome proxy series this was got to travel all over the US ( okay my car did ) went to 6 amazing tracks & enjoyed it emensely , couple of things thank you for fixing my wires & yes my biggest
problem throughout this proxy series was my rear tyres thank you for trying to fix them ( they will make a good tyre barrier ) after I posted the car I realised I forgot to put my MJK urethane tyres on the car as they as still sitting here in there unopened pack first thing to get done to the car once it arrives back in Australia , a big congratulations to the 3 podium placegetters of this race & also congratulations to Arroldn for winning the overall series & to all the other racers who took part in the series , oh 1 question how did I run into a beer can ? thats diffently a first & also once again great photos

One of the things I've heard in many post about proxy racing is make the car easy to drive. UM does that mean boring so be it. Thanks to all participants track host and drivers at all locations. After the first race I was concerned since my car was not classified as one that was well stuck down. It almost made me second guess placing the lead in the center cavity of the car instead of in front of the rear wheel wells which has been my normal practice. But track test on my oval showed better times with the weight in the center so that's where it stayed.

Close racing throughout the series. I knew for me to win Tusco Todd and Reek would have to have to slip up. Two points differences say how close this series was.
Again hats off to all.

Changing the subject slightly, somewhere along the way my car lost it's wing. It was supposed to be placed in the box with all the cars. If it's in the box, I would be greatly appreciative if it could be returned with my car.

Thanks again to you all. It was a lot of fun to get everybody's impressions of the cars and see how they did overall.

Rico - your wing was in the box for your car in a small plastic bag. At my track I couldn't figure out how to attach it so it stayed in the bag and went on to SCC who, I'm sure, still have it.

I want to thank everyone for their participation. All of the venues have been top notch and the cars have performed accordingly. Having the SCC track for a final race was great. I don't think you can have racing that is much closer. Overall, with a total of 10 cars competing, there were three ties for total points! I have to sit down with Burrell and sort the overall finish, as there were some ties. But, I think we can sort things out by looking at fast lap times. If anyone has another idea, let me know. We have prizes to announce and distribute.

Hey Rico, your rear wing is in the box. I should be getting all the cars mailed out tomorrow afternoon.

I have sorted out the ties. I went back and looked at qualifying times. I ranked them (in an abecedarian way) 1st, 2nd, so on. The lowest total score (higher qualifying times) was the tie breaker. I wanted to use race times, but not all races kept/posted times for the races, but they did post qualifying times. If anyone has a problem with my methods or my math, let me know. So, with a protest period of 24 hours, here are the realists of the first, Abecedarian Proxy:

…. Arroldn
…. Reek55
…. Tusco Todd
…. Bibbster
…. Ember
…. Burrell
…. ManchvegasRacer
…. VenturaAlfa
…. Baford 1
… Czar

Congratulatons, and thanks to everyone who participated.
