We did have a BLAST with these cars.
As some of you know, I'm mainly a silicone tire guy, so to race cars with urethane tires is a bit different for me. That being said, I've gotten to like driving certain types of cars with urethane tires (jaloopas for example :D ). Since we had just driven the jaloopas for over 1000 laps the night before, I had a good idea what to expect from these cars. While I was able to get a good "feel" for most of the cars, Bibbster's Porsche and I "hit it off", so to speak. The car was perfectly balanced for the way I liked to drive, and why it got the quickest laptime and also why it won overall. Not bragging, mind you, as the other guys did a fabulous job of driving. It's just when a guy "clicks" with a certain car... look out! :auto-driving:
Reek, your Vette ran well here. The other drivers commented it was a really smooth car to run. Josh especially liked it. But when I drove it, I just couldn't get it to run like Josh did when he qualified with it. I'm guessing it was my driving style didn't "connect" with your car for whatever reason. That being said, I don't think I had any off's with it, so it had to be a pretty decent car (specially since it's a Chebby  )
Arrold-a couple guys commented your car was "boring" to drive. By that, it meant it was easy to drive compared to the other cars, and I believe that's a good thing for most racers. If the car isn't giving any "surprises" while your driving it, most guys can turn in some good results with cars like that. And it shows, as it looks like your the overall winner. Congrats there :banana-dance:
Baford1-We really, really tried to get your Furrie to run better. Moving the motor wires did help some (we were able to complete laps without falling off), but the rear tires just wouldn't come around, even after adding oil (which usually helps tremendously). One of the tires has hardened up to the point of no return. We even tried given them a quick sanding to get to some "fresh" rubber, but that didn't help as much as we hoped. Sorry dude...
The guys at SCC do thank everyone involved for letting us run these cars. We really did enjoy running them!! :music-rockout:
