This morning I got a message from Matt at Changing Gearz who wanted to add a prize to the bucket. It is a 3D chassis kit, complete with pod and wheels, a great prize. He also had a suggestion of who he thought should receive it. I will leave that surprise until after the final round on the Targa on Sunday.

Hi Keith, could we get the Targa Proxy Participants attachment at the bottom of the first page of this thread updated with the entrants, the car numbers and, particularly, the car makes/models and who manufactured the body? Not trying to make extra work for you, but it would be good to know if there are any particular cars bodies (outside of the Fly Porsche 908/3s) that do particularly well on the tracks in this series. Thanks.

Good idea Allan, only one but....
It wasnt my car bodies fault that I did so poorly in the standings.
You see my story is this.
I was so proud of the paint job I wanted it to be slow enough for everyone to admire as it went by on the track. And that sir is what im sticking with.

OK everyone, here we are and the GVSCC Targa Proxy has been completed.

Six of us gathered on a busy pre-holiday Sunday afternoon to run the last race of the series, The Targa in the reverse direction. We had a great time with your cars and experienced no mechanical breakdowns.

There were a few changes in the results, but at this point, only those that might affect the leaderboard are really significant. There were a few cars that had issues with two spots on the Targa when it is run in a clockwise direction. If cars are driven too fast approaching the top of the long hill, light cars have a tendency to take flight and deslot. The same applies to the hump where the cars cross the Start/Finish line. A couple cars had repeated offs for these reasons, and the drivers had to slow the cars way down to prevent it.

Otherwise all went well, and my thanks to Doug, Mike, Dan Don and Luf for helping me run the race today.

Today's results have been added to the leaderboard which I will attach here.

The positions for the podium in Class A are unchanged, as the cars finished today in the same order as they were on the board. In Class B, however, we had a very exciting finish that did affect the board.

Going into the race today, Steve Williams' black Ferrari had 28 points, one ahead of Andy White's blue Porsche at 29. Today Andy's car came in third. Had Steeve's car come fourth we would have had a tie, but Dennis's Ferrari scooped fourth place pushing Steeve's car back to fifth. The result, a one point advantage for Andy, and the third step of the podium.
three ties in the final results on the leaderboard. I broke these ties using the qualifying result at the beginning of the proxy. As a result, although they show the same number of points, Stewart's Alfa places ahead of Dale's Ford in A class, Dave's Ferrari ahead of Tony's Ford, and Ron's Lola ahead of Roger's Ford in B class. Am I seeing a pattern here, haha!

Once again, hats off to the GVSCC for a well designed and executed proxy. Seven races run on six different tracks within a one month time span, all done with fully posted reports and most of the venues covered via video. You guys have set a new standard.

Congratulations to all involved, especially to the entrants who have provided an exciting field of Targa cars. Judging from some of the comments that Keith has made, it seems that GVSCC is already thinking about hosting another Targa Florio Proxy in 2016. Can't wait!
