Finally made some progress on paint and thought I would share - I think the color fits the Mav well... :)




Now for some "cure" time before the next step - which gives me time to work on the interior, wheels, bumpers, etc. :D

Oh and for ref -if anyone is interested, the color is Dupli-color Sunburst Gold Metallic (DSFM351)

Well, the Maverick Grabber and the Comet GT both came in two available metallic golds, Freudian Gilt, and Champagne Gold, which looks a lot like what you have painted. Both cars in these colors had sharp black striping and graphics and came with bigger engines and sporty interiors. At one time both cars could be had with a 302 V8, which could be easily converted to take the Boss 302 heads and intake for a crazy weight to horsepower ratio. I saw one of the 302 Mavericks make a substantial puff of smoke on the tires shifting hard to 3rd gear at speed. I don't know how hard it was to hold them in a straight path with that power- they were really lightweight.

I got more lead in the front of that thing to off set the brass piece I used to mount the rear of the body down, the whole thing weighs a ton. . Final tuning to be done on wednesday to help dial her in. .. change the braids out and adjust the weight around for better balance.
