I think leaving most of the stuff up to the host is for the best. Only the host will really know what suits his track and the people (person) he has to run the race(s). I like the level playing field of fuel tank, though I'd prefer the host to have the ability to adjust power as well as brakes, if not the competitor offering their recommendation for those. As others have said, it's common for proxy racers to be able to adjust the sensitivity and brakes on their controllers.
