The T-county Lug Nuts were standing on the pit wall trying to will the 917 past the #8 GT-40 - but the D&D driver just managed to keep the racing line blocked up enough to keep us at bay! Kudos to the D&D team as it made for some great cat and mouse action (even if our driver now has a limp from trying to push the gas pedal through the floor to get that last extra horse power to pull of a pass!)
Looking forward to the action at Jacquelin Park!

Re: SIP 2018 round #4 - Penguin Point

Alrighty... for starters Jacquelin Park is the Carrera Digital track - an unlikely venue without getting a roomful of friends though I did give it thought. However, Penguin Point sits next to it and is a wonderful track for this sort of event.

So, welcome to round 4.

As for cars, I'm weighing the possibilities. The easy choices are:

A. Slot.It Can Am (Alfa, Ferrari, Chaparral)
B. Vintage F1 (Cartrix and others)
C. Ninco McLarens - yes I have more than 8

Make your choice known and vote! With 7 votes we will have a winner. I will wait patiently while you make your selection.

In the meantime, how about a track picture:

A pleasant day to you all.

The girls have no, nada, none, zip, :naughty: experience driving F1's so I vote for the slot-its.

My heart says Slot. It's, but with just 1 more vote for the F1's it's a done deal - so Vintage F1's it is!

Thanks to vonsirius for posting my Shelby-Hendrix Speedway pictures.

The 1st & 2nd photos are of my track - yes it still needs scenery, but as soon as I got one lane working I started buying cars and running simulated races. The pits are full of Trans Am, World Sportscars (Le Mans type GT cars), and Can-Am cars.

3rd photo shows narrow lane spacing (2") in no-passing section.

4th photo shows wide lane spacing (3 1/2") in passing sections.

5th photo shows finishing order - #50 Lola T70 of CAT racing took the win.

Last photo shows the starting grid, led by #1 Chaparral.

The track is in the loft area of my barn and measures 6' x 14' with elevation changes. A very fun track to drive!

Thank you gentlemen, Vintage F1 it is. Let me give the cars a run and see where they stand and I'll get back to you.

I see how it is. My team is starting to show improvement but noooooooooooooo, lets keep em at the bottom. Guess the girls will have to have a crash course (not literally I hope) in driving these antique beasts.

The cars have been wheeled onto the track and are about to be waved off by our track girl Jackie for some practice laps led by the pace car. It's an amazing sight to see this diverse field covering such a wide spectrum of legendary marques. We have cars entered from:

Alfa Romeo
Mercedes Benz
Lotus
Lancia-Ferrari
Renault Gordini
Bugatti
Vanwall
Maserati

We'll let the drivers take a few laps each hoping to catch an owners eye. In the meantime we'll gather some pictures and details about each car.

Stay tuned.
