What are most guys gearing these babies? Stated 8/30 plus or minus 1 or 2. So a 9/30 would be 3:33 vs 3:75 suggested ratio. Then we were told use what you have. Just want to be in the ballpark with this, so I'm not blown away by cars geared 2:40 or higher.
Also must tires be the same size on all four corners?

That is an interesting question... and will be interested to hear what others used.

I ordered up the requested 8:30 gearing for mine verses the 9:27 or 9:26 gearing would I normally use - hoping that everyone else would do the same, figuring the goal was good close door to door action with that steep of a ratio...

If others opted for shallower gearing, look for us 8:30 guys to be at the back of the pack at everything but the shortest tracks... :lol:

Well my 8 tooth pinion arrived today. You can't beat Slot Car Corner for timely order processing and shipping. Ordered about 11:30 Friday night and it was shipped on Saturday here on Monday.
Todd I see know one else is commenting on how they geared their cars. I wonder how I should play this!!!

I've got my M/T 5 Motor ready to add to the car and ship tomorrow. I guess I'll use the 8 tooth pinion and see how it shakes out. I'm just surprised no comments from Dave or Steve.

Still have to get clearance issues on the front end worked out. But I'm calling it a night. Should be in the mail tomorrow night. Overlook the table. It will be cleaned off by the time the cars get here for my segment.

The rules ask to use 8-30. But also aprove + or - a few teeth. I dont know what everyone is using until i get the cars. Not sure what you want me to reply with my friend.

Are you in the middle of no man's land? I printed a label at home 3 day Priority Mail and it says it will not be delivered until the 11th. Luck me it Mother's Day weekend. No 2 day Priority Mail to your area.
