I've been pretty much restricted to laying flat on my back in bed. But I am still trying to keep my head and hands in the game. The "patient tray" that Hospice has provided to me allows me to do a bit of minor tinkering on my slot cars.
After feeling almost human one day last week, I had a chance to run some laps on my Sideways Porsche Group 5 car that I replaced the Slot.It Flat-6 motor with a Slot.It FC-130 Orange endbell motor. I retained the anglewinder drive configuration and am very pleased with the initial testing results that I have observed. The car now weighs 68 grams, accelerates quicker, has awesome brakes, and handles superbly.
Well I tried a similar approach with an LMP car, but there is NOT enough room under the body for the motor to fit. I had an idea :techie-idea: There was a JK Retro Hawk 25 sitting on the workbench. This is an FK-130 form factor motor . . . . . same diameter as the Slot.It Flat-6 motor, just a bit shorter. Looks like this motor might do what I want.
Now, does anyone have any "spec" data for this motor? Sure wish Robert Livingston would upgrade his motor list to include this motor.
