i was trying to be funny ... did not work out ... obviously ..... i meant a roll cage.

had to adjust the front axle, it had different wheel bases left and right. added spacers for the correct width in the front in the process.



tire trueing time! a "little" material sanded down ....
milled out the wheel to get more depth for wheel inserts, too.



tires came off the wheels even they were glued with CA.
did some scratching on the aluminium wheels, should be better now.



not bad for a start, something to work with ...

After A couple of months of not doing much with respect to slot cars, I decided I better get a Hill climbing car ready. I missed the Gaydon event and I didn't want to miss this too. It is a Heller Peugoet 405 rallye car with a brass inline chassis.

No problem Dan, there is plenty of time. If you cant get one sorted for class 1, class 2 is looking popular.

My hill is not big enough for a Pike's Peak type of event, but maybe someone will build one!

got an AGM Alfa Romeo 8c today!
the gear sound is really, really quite, nearly no play in the rear axle, front stub axles are okay. rotating guide with softer cables than on the minis i got.
paint is looking really good.
front lights work and look really good!

a little progress on the Mini Sprint - finally the glass insert is considered ready for the lowered roof.

chassis is glued together, needs a little cleaning, but more or less ready for a first rollout. 2mm axles with ball bearings and cheap china gears m0,5

as my DSlot Aston came with a front wheel on the rear axle, i decided to swap the axles and wheels. Now it will get a 2.38mm axle with ball bearings and printed wheels. Made inserts from the orignial DSlot wheels, fit nicely in the printed wheels. need a little paint on prints, so.

added a hole for the diode (necessary for driving digital) to the GRC - chassis

GRC? Go! replacement chassis - a fully customizable chassis for go! components with magnet holder - magnet holder height adjustable!

Finished the printed rear wheels on the Aston. As written above, i got a car in the box with 3 front wheels and only one rear wheel.
So, i measured the original rear wheel and got a printed one from shapeways.
First, i tried to go with the flatened ends of the original DSlot axle, but this did not work out. totally out of round. So, i changed the axle to a standard 2.38mm axle, added ball bearings, got printed wheels again. turned down the original wheels to inserts to fit them into the printed wheels. painted the wheels with a mixture of black and silver to match the original color. i think it looks good now.
