Thanks David. The Todco has a few added things like aluminum brake rotors, and was lowered just a tad. The Al's Body Shop car is the stock height. I like the new chassis on this car. :)

I just got the Al's Body Shop Camaro yesterday. Everyone is right, the online photos don't do it justice. When I saw it at "The Race Place" in Holly Hill I knew I had to have it.

Bob - glad to hear you got one. I agree that it looks fantastic! I just got an order of PG tires before I left for my trip, but out of the box the new Scalextric rubber actually hooked well enough for me to drive it a bit. Mine ran excellent out of the box as the last several Scalextric cars have. I'm very impressed with the new tire compound - it isn't perfect for my wood track, but that isn't their issue.

I'm anxious to know if yours runs as well.

Tell me if you were as impressed with the Tampo as I was - pretty sweet in my book!

It might be a few days before I get to play with my new toy. On the way back from Daytona, just 2 miles from home my 1:1 car broke down. At minimum I think it is the water pump. I think the bearing froze and it broke the belt and at that point it shut down completely.

Aw nuts! I'm assuming not a cheap fix on a Northstar either! Hope it is ok.

Turned out not to be as bad as originally relayed to me by the mechanic. Early this morning he tried to turn over the motor and the starter couldn't even crank it. Thought I had seized up the motor. Later he discovered that the alternator had burned out a bearing and froze up solid The starter couldn't pull the belt over the frozen pulley. So now it looks as if getting a new alternator will correct the problem. Still expensive ($365) but nowhere near the cost of a new motor. I should have my wheels back by midday Thursday.
