Trans Am replicas

This car just showed up on the Historic Trans Am website. My first car was a '64 Ford Falcon given to me by my brother when he got out of the Navy after Vietnam. I'd love to build a replica for my series. Any one know of a place to get the body in 1/32 scale?



Also, anyone know of a source for other large displacement Trans Am car bodies such as the Dodge Dart and '70 AMC Javelin? (I have RMS Cougars, Firebird, '67 Javelin, many Pioneer & Scalextric Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers, and the Carrera AAR 'Cuda.)

That's the one I tried to print out that turned out Ugly. I was very difficult trying to draw that one up from memory for that was what I got to drive when I first got my license. It sure was a beast, with its 144 six and three speed transmission.

My '64 Falcon Sprint had 289 V8 with a 4 speed tranny - and I got it for free from my brother the month before I turned 16. It cut out on him in a blizzard and he got stranded in it and was so mad he gave it to me. My dad and I replaced the coil and it ran fine for years till I traded it in on a '69 Cougar. Years later I gave my brother a car he put 250K miles on commuting to/from work - debt repaid.

I've been thinking about the RMS '63 Falcon, just hoping a '64 is available somewhere. Would make a Dodge Dart too if possible.

Bob - thanks for the tip on the Javelin kit, my grandson is going to bid on it for me. It would go great with my 2 RMS resin ones.

Thanks for the tips. At first I thought the link to Turner's site was for a '63 Falcon, but did see the '64. I'll contact him this week to see about ordering one.

David - thanks for the heads up on the Javelin. I'll stick with the two of yours I have till a later model is available. Jules - if Pioneer is still planning to make one please speak up. The Trans Am replicas have been your bread and butter, and the RTR cupboard is bare when it comes to Javelins.

It's too bad there are relatively few of us who have Trans Am fever and want to see all of the T/A cars of the 60's and 70's produced as 1/32 slot cars. But I guess the manufacturers have run the numbers on their ouija boards and we come out holding the short straws. I feel lucky that my favorite cars were the Camaros. I would buy most of the others if available at a reasonable price but there is so much other stuff out there competing for my slot car dollar.

If you buy the George Turner kit and you can stand the extra cost I highly recommend getting the Richard Mark, laser cut chassis. The 2 I have are great!
