Scalextric 2015 Releases

I'm liking it that the Trans Am liveries keep coming. Despite having bought an all white Scalextric Cougar, painting it green and gold, and buying decals make my own version of the #41 Cougar of Allan Moffat, I will buy the C3614 when it's released. Scalextric's UK website has it up for purchase and says it's expected release date is January 5th, 2015. Does anyone know if that's trustworth?


Also, anyone know whatever happened with the C3539 #2 Mustang that's been up for pre-order at many online dealers for months? How is it we're being promised 2015 releases and this 2014 planned release can still be ordered with no expected delivery date?

I heard that the changeover to the new chassis means no full interior.
Something mentioned about a lexan tray interior.

Sure hope they come out with a updated chip for that pro chassis. stock dpr chip will never handle that motor....

I'm surprised that anyone running digital would want to chip cars with hot motors. I thought the whole idea was to run at more realistic speeds and concentrate on lane strategy as well as pit stop strategy.

that is true but if they have that DPR there some body is going to want to put in a DPR chip in and poof there it goes up in smoke.or maybe they could make a flat 18k motor to replace the flat 6.

I kind of like that one of the first cars with the PCR chassis will be the McLaren P1. I wonder if they will all have the flat 6 anglewinder chassis or if some will have a sidewinder set up to allow a deeper interior.

As I understand it, you buy the PCR chassis by itself. Then you need to add all the parts - motor, rear axle assembly, pod, guide, wheels and tires etc. You'll even need the original "standard" car in order to use the chassis. I don't think you can get the car with the PCR chassis.

In the whole ad it is priced at over $60 on pre-order. That is a lot for just a chassis. I think it is the whole car.

That would be a very difficult price point if I can get a new Slot It complete car for about $50 most any day of the week (recently some prices have been hovering at low $40s). I always ask myself if the livery/body of the car I want is worth paying more and NOT getting a Slot It car. The usual answer is no but sometimes yes.

That was MSRP so I expect that I can get one at about 15% off. If it is a complete car with a basic setup like slot.it cars I will probably get one. If it is just a chassis to which I have to add my own body, tray interior, wheels, tires, etc. I will pass.

I've posted here because we were mentioned and because it sounds like a different brand doing the same thing Shapeways has done.. make a chassis plate that fits under an RTR car that you need to then buy the parts to use with it. Slot It/Shapeways has done this with our DTM cars with great success.
I don't want to step on toes here because i know this is a Scalex thread so I don't want to threadjack anything here.... sorry if this is unwelcome. :text-merryxmas:
