Scalextric VW bus white kit - quick look

Postby VTECFOUR » Wed Dec 24, 2014 2:12 pm

Just got this and what a surprise. Body's a two piece affair with the top secured by four screws.

Oh, that's how the Chuck Iverson VW panel van for 2015 can be produced easily.

Chassis's an inline powered by a FF050 motor. It's a bit much for such a top heavy car but some weight and lower profile tires will help driveability on wood.

Had a 1:1 crew cab so this one's prime for conversion.

Well done Scalextric.

Agree Dan, an easy conversion to a racecar transporter.
I wonder what the price will be like.

I may just have to get one of those. Very neat, and it could be done so many different ways. I'm thinking surf van, couple of boards hangin' out the back, gnarly dude! :)

Not my cup of tea even though I must say it is cute. And if someone can make a VW bus slot car anything is possible.

Saw the limited to 2500 dual VW bus and beetle for $150+ at Professor Motor the other day if I remember right.

It has the bus all decked out for the beach, along with a special bumper etc for the beetle.

My quick math was double the price for them both decked out and I backed away!

The VW van chassis might be a good starting point for doing some other make of van providing there is a model kit available.

Will someone with a razor saw be brave enough to build a pickup version?
