For those who have the MAVTV station on their cable or dishes.....the Tulsa Shootout 6:30PM - 7:30PM & the Golden Driller 7:30PM - 10:00PM
air tonight.........I think this is the famous "Chili Bowl" live tonight.
MAVTV is channel 214 for Direct TV subscribers here in Southern Illinois.

Looking forward to it. Nascar rookie Kyle Larson is starting in the second row. He used to be into slot cars as a kid and had a routed oval that he ran sprints and midgets at his house. Pretty cool.

I became aware of the Chili Bowl after slot racing with some guys who race Midgets up here in the North East - I just didn't really know about it before that - or didn't understand it...

It really is the one of the best motorsports events - period.

There are even some YouTubes of past Chili Bowls - HRW Boarders should take a look if they are unfamiliar.

There are OVER 300 of the fastest midgets, and after a solid week of races, and an alphabet soup of lettered mains with the top cars ever advancing - it ends on Saturday Night with 'top-of-the-top' 24 cars racing in a single 55 lap A-Main - all raced on dirt - and all raced INDOORS - and not an empty seat in the house!

The action is insane and this year there were 61 flipped cars I think - the short wheelbase overpowered midgets are sliding, bicycling, pulling wheelies and occasionally spectacularly flipping end over end - and that is pretty much 'normal' racing for these guys.

There should be more oval track midget slot car racing!
