I feel your pain about detailing a 1/32 engine. I may have done my last one with that inline 6 on the '57 recently. I followed your lead for my next car and bought some Carrera T-Bird tires. I've been trying to do a cut pattern on the rears for it, and I'm not very happy with the result. Maybe I can melt the cut pattern in and sand it smooth afterward to get traction back.

Rob, If your tires are rubber, you can heat a piece of metal screen wire and roll them over it. it will leave a very nice vintage crosscut pattern. this is a very bad picture of the results, but you can get the idea

What are you going to use for radiator hose?

I know, black shrink tube, find a screw about the right size, put shrink tube over it, heat it so it forms over the thread, then unscrew it from the screw

I have lots of leftover wire laying around here, and I did a little math to find out what is exactly 1/32 scale for smooth hose when painted flat black, then I discovered that there is very nice looking braided cover out there. I don't remember where I got it just now, but it looks great. It might have been de-soldering braid.

By the way, that tiny little wiring from telephone cable is perfect for ignition wire, and it comes in all the right colors.
