Going to try and follow your lead Harry! I have had this old Strombecker version for a very long time. It really needs some help in the running department, and your build inspired me to get it up and running. I am using the Racer wheels only because I have an inexpensive source for them. Thanks for the build, I love it!

Great project Bob! Good thing I do NOT have that source, or I would be even farther behend :)

Audi, I brush it on. I use a cheap plastic 1/4" or larger brush from a craft kit selection. I will take photos in a bit for you.

Once I brush it on heavily, the key is to use a paper towel and drag it across the bottom edges of the model to absorb the large drips and excess that settles. I do this every couple minutes until it starts to set up.

Usually 2 coats. Then I wait at least 2 hours and then buff it with the wax.

Future has changed over the years and I've more often than not had issues with it. I think I'll re-dip one of the cars that is an issue and see if it will re-level.

Let us know what the result is; I'm working out of a new bottle, so maybe that's why it's not working well for me(?) Or, maybe, it's just me........................... :lol:

Assisted with a rebuild of a different kind with one of these for SlotCar Magazine (formerly SlotCar MAG). It was more a detail up than a complete rebuild.


Might have to look at a complete rebuild for the next joint effort that is under discussion.

Jumping on the bandwagon now, building up a chassis for the MRRC MarkIV. I am only using this body for the chassis build as it has a decent running sebring chassis, but I have the blue version on the way and will use it for the final choice. Not enough done to show just yet , but maybe in a couple days.
