This is one great project. Heck of a way to "come back" home and find something like this.

Glad to see you are finally getting around to this. It's been hours since your last car. :)

Nice start Dave.

That looks very well done.

I often wish I had that talent. Lots of the cars we do were hand painted and many times very basic.

You really copied this well.

Looks just right to me. Somehow the hand lettered cars always look a little more realistic to me. I have always like Harry's 441 jalopy build for that same reason. This one is going to great.

Going to be another stunner Dave.. The hand painted numbers are perfect for it.
Taking the time to do the firewall right was a good call.. it looks fantastic!

I just wish you could have gotten a shine on that black, Are you kidding me? black paint on a resin body that shines like that. You Sir, Are a painter. I cant get white to lay that flat on a window pane, let alone Black on curves. My signature paint job may be primer from here on out.

Speaking of sandpaper, Where do you guys find the 1500/2000 grit paper? No one around here has even close to that. I have to settle for worn out wet sand 800 grit.

The only thing close to an Auto paint store around here is NAPA. They sell paint and some paper, just not the ultra fine stuff.
I will look in the big city next trip, they have an APE Store there.

NAPA does sell fine grit sandpaper, by the sheet. I picked up some 1200, 1500, 2000 and 2500 just a few weeks ago. They go as high as 4000!

Go back and have a look.....
