I wish i could get my paint to look half that good, well, maybe it does look half as good?
I guess 50% of great is at best Mediocre, I have achieved that!

For me, this is progress. Running chassis ready for body/detail.



Included the data in the photos in case anyone wants/needs them for quick reference. So steal/pillage/use at will.

Looking real good Harry, very realistic insert combo, I sure like that stepped chassis design, I might have to borrow that idea for my next one.

Here is how I make the side pipes.

Not as nice as other you see, but I like using this method as it's super easy to bend the "pipes" using the solder.



I use the shrink tubing to make a "collector" of sorts. You can use aluminum or even plastic for the end pipe.

Once you insert the solder into the pipe, just use a drop of super glue inside. Between that and the shrink tubing, they are in tight.



Now they can be easily sprayed or brush painted.

Ok, back to the Skunkworks. Hope it helps some of you.

LOL, I know Mike. I am SO far behind...but I did manage to finish this one.

Nothing fancy or impressive. But I like it just fine.



Paint is Dupli-Color Perfect Match #BGM0533 Bahama Blue Metallic. Decals are Gofer racing. They have a couple cool sheets for these cars that fit 1/32 just fine.


For $8.00 a sheet from Hobbylinc I think they are a great deal.



Have a big sponsor to keep happy.



Overall a FUN build. Just work stopped me from getting it done sooner.

I like it! Shaving off all the trim lines is very realistic too. Most of those old racers were just a skin.
Love the decal work, and especially the sponsor!

I think it took me 21 days :) I think we all have our own little chassis designs we like to use. Seems they all run well together too, the Sportsman Showdown proved that.

That's just one of the many cool parts of all this. We are making cars many miles apart, but when we meet up...it's a great race.
