Carrera USA Comes through BIG for local kids.

After posting about a local family that is down on their luck this season, I'd planned on getting their children a nice 1/43 layout. Ed and Dave from Carrera stepped up immediately and asked to send the family a nice set directly from their warehouse. Besides being a great gesture of compassion during Christmas, it will hopefully kindle the fire of slot cars in some kids' hearts.

Upon my arrival home yesterday evening, I was greeted at the door by a large box from Carrera USA! I'd talked to Dave about getting their CARS Porto Corsa set and that is what we got. WOW! It is a really nice set and I can see these kids having some serious fun with this!

My wife has the youngest in her Pre-K class and all three of the kids are in her Elementary School. Each teacher that has a child is going to do the shopping for that child and then we get to deliver the gifts. We are trying to arrange it that we can set the track up so I can show them how everything works, but that plan is still being developed. I'll update everyone when we get this done.

Thanks so much to Carrera for doing something like this and for really going above and beyond the call.

Wow David thanks, my boss Ed replied to that thread and within a minute or so mentioned how touched he was about the thread and how he felt he must reply with some help from us. We're happy to be a small part of the help for the family.
