TGIF - Time for the new toys

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Fri Mar 06, 2015 9:19 am

Been a busy week around these parts with new reviews in the works. There are several in progress and hopefully some of you enjoy them.

Have a raceday tomorrow as Locoracer Tom & Karl are coming for a visit. Have to make sure the old Skunkworks is ready :)

How about you folks?

I have put in a request for some un interrupted time Saturday. I plan on building a new workbench for slots only, that will hold all of my tools in one place. Building, casting, testing in one spot! We will see how this turns out?
Should make my current situation a little more tolerable.
And maybe even finish up the mountain of casting i have been trying to get finished, and one car finished as well.
Big plans for two days, Monday will tell how well this plan worked.
Have a great weekend all!

Hmmm a weekend, no appointments , should find a little time for some building for the Mod Wars and the Roar cars. Looking forward to that.
Just doing a bit of paint and chassis work will be the order of the day a wonderful way to relax.

I'm working on some new projects this weekend. I've got two in pieces right now, a Pioneer Alan Green Camaro, and a Scaley Ford Falcon XB. I was going to order some wheels from SCC, but they are out. I did manage to finish the VW New Beetle Convertible road racer, and the Carrera Cheetah with the Devis 3D guide adapter system, which fit perfectly. I know Bibbster I owe you some pics. :D

I just returned from a two day trip to the coast to work on scenery for my G scale model train club. I have a big project over there. I am looking at a Strombecker Jaguar D Type trying to figure out how I want to build it. I have a vacu-form machine to build and what is similar to what Bob Taylor is doing, I am setting up an area in my shop that is strictly for slot car projects.

Took me all day to get it right. Good thing the Smooth On dealer is right around the corner from the hotel that I'm at. LOL

I posted on this Friday, that i had plans for the weekend to build my bench, finish some cars, and get semi caught up on my casting backlog. Somehow i managed to get all three done! Bench is built and dirtied up all ready, 16 bodies cast, and a new Mod built with front end steering!. How often does that happen?? my plans never work out as planned. I guess the planets were aligned or something?

On Saturday I had the pleasure of racing on a beautiful 1:32 track at ACE hobby in Niagara Falls. We ran Scalextric F1's followed by a race of Scalextric GT cars.
Sunday we ran 3 races at Niagara Hobby in Buffalo. They have a 6 lane Carrera analog ,200 foot track. We ran a "limited" downforce race followed by a short-can race, finishing with a long-can race.
GREAT racing !
