ProtoSlot slot cars

ProtoSlot offer some really interesting cars, but they're priced in the rarified air zone. The detail looks good on them and I understand that they come with a metal chassis, aluminum wheels, etc. But at 4-6x the prices of other brands, are they worth the money?

Allan , I have one PSK car, the Can Am Shadow.
I didnt buy the rtr , just the kit prepainted. No chassis etc.
it was pricey, but I got it as I couldnt get it anywhere else at the time.
its a nice kit, im glad I got it, a penelope pitlane chassis I had is a perfect fit.
If I could have gotten it elsewhere at a better price, I would, but it was one of those if you want it here it is. Nice paint, nice parts , no complaints.
I think it was about $115.
And its in the project line up.

Like chappy says, these are cars that many prospective buyers probably look for when they want a particular model and there is no cheaper alternative of reasonable quality.
There´s another dimension too; resin cars behave differently on the track. They are heavier, and have a more "solid" feel. Acceleration and braking are both slower and you can modulate the speed much better than with modern contest cars, like for instance Slot-it or NSR. The latter cars feel squirrely and skittish by comparison. It may be my mature age, but I have come to prefer the heavier resin cars and don't mind relinquishing a couple of styrene cars to cover the extra cost. It's all a matter of taste and priorities (and money..).
The ProtoSlot cars are quality items, no problems there. Chris Deco is an artist, and very pleasant to deal with.
