Well no need to wait Rob. 2 or the 3 colours are finished. Just the blue to go but I will wait a few days before spraying the blue. I debated the right red colour to use for a few days. I had 3 different reds here that would of worked. Problem was every vintage photo the red looked like a different colour. Ended up choosing Tamiya bright red TS49. The white I used was Tamiya Pure white TS26.

I had a moment just now. I thought the fuel filler on the Javelins was out the back. On these bodies there is a gap between the rear wing for it. I was looking at my Friedmann Transam book & noticed the fuel fillers on the rear quarters, both left & right. Im thinking crap. Now I need to drill some holes, patch up the gap in the rear wing & respary the red &. I got the drill & bits out ready to drill. I stopped for lunch while reading the book. What I noticed for the 1970 Javelins, at the start of the season the fuel filler is on the rear quarters. But at the end of the season there are no visible holes in the the quarters. The fuel filler id out the back in the rear wing. It makes me wonder why they changed this location during the 1970 season. So Im all good, no need to drill holes & modify what Ive already done. Im super glad I stopped for lunch!!!

Next update in a few days. It will be the last update for a month or so.

Excellent Greg!

What are you using for masking the lines Greg (I'm trying to learn :) ). I've heard some use "Bare Metal Foil", I've also used it once but it wasn't that flash....

I used to use plain old book contact plastic on my R/C plastic bodies but this is all a bit new to me.

Ive tried a few different products for masking. I learnt real quick. I use Tamiya masking tape now, that is all I use. It will give you a perfect edge everytime. Trust me dont bother with anything else. There are a few widths. I mainly use 10mm but also use 6mm if Im masking curves or somthing that is not exactly straight.

I got the blue sprayed today. I was going to leave the red to harden for an extra day but couldnt wait. I used Tamiya Blue TS15. A wet sand next with some superfine wet & dry then onto decals. Im using a mixture of Pattos decals & my own design printed by Matt. I thought I would give Pattos a shot as I havnt tried them yet since he go the new printer

Greg, the cars are looking awesome. Funny enough, I have 2 1968 Javelins one the bench in primer. I've been to 3 different shops to find the Testors Big Bad Blue, but haven't found it yet and may have to cheat.

Good motivation for me to get mine done over the break!

Just thought I would post up a quick teaser pic of this project. Ive got alot done on this now. The #9 is on its chassis & just need to add the wheel inserts, exhaust pipes, chassis painted black & a few detail bits & pieces. The #6 body is waiting on a clear coat & then needs to be put together. Interior & chassis is basically is ready to go. Im happy with how these are turning out, considering the amount of cleanup they needed, parts not fitting & warpages. They have actually fought me the whole way.

WIll have them completed & pics up by the end of next weekend.

They will hopefully be finished within the week. Clear coat go's on the #6 today. I noticed with these decals that you have to go easy with the clear. So Ill build up the clear ove the next few days, weather permitting. Wheel inserts also go on the the #9 today.
