Christmas,TYCO US-1,and the Bandit

Postby ourwayband » Mon Dec 17, 2012 4:03 pm

I,like a lot of folks here used to be a model railroader.O gauge, toy trains.Around this time of the year I get the urge to build a toy layout, trains or not. A few months ago we discovered US-1 by TYCO.Not racing, but fun.You load the trucks, back em' up,unload um' and just have fun!Threw this little layout together for the Christmas season.US-1 trucks and some of my ol' Hot Wheels...Had to have a Junkyard,A place to have a cold one,and Drive-In with Smokey and the Bandit playing. We plan to detail and add more to it..
Merry Christmas Folks!!

Oh yes, looking good.

I could see some AW cars doing some street racing too.

You need the KISS rig now :)

That looks like a lot of fun. I have been getting the itch to get a train track and train to go along with my Model Motoring train crossing! Next year. This year it's nothing but KISS drag racing and rigs and an oval around the tree. I wanted to see a few more scenes from your Smokey movie on there! And I liked the weathered Challenger. Nice.

Thanks!!I didn't know were to stop the movie to get a picture,so we chose the opening..
Kinda cool working/playing on the layout and remember seeing the movie at a Drive in with my Girlfriend.Later she became my wife ,now of 35 years.I remember that every one that left the show that night tried to burn up their tires on the way out...

Very cool layout I need to find some more pieces to my US-1 I have some and one truck that needs work got it at a yard sale this summer the people just gave it to me.
I bought a tyco cliff hanger track at the sale and they asked if I would like to buy it to and I said no it is missing a lot and only has one truck that might not work so they said here you can have this too with the other track you bought so I got a complete track set and part of the US-1 set for 5 bucks but haven't found the pieces I need to complete the US-1 set but I'm in no hurry to get it done.

Hi Racer, just keep a look out.I bought and traded for some used stuff. Most needed work, but that was part of the fun.The trucks seem to be pretty tuff.A little tuning, cleaning, and maybe some new shoes and they seem to run and run.Good luck on the hunt. There is always e-bay,but right now the stuff is going kinda high due to the Christmas buying.
Great $5 deal at the Yard sale !!

Thanks Rusty I've been holding off until after new years to go on the hunt for the US-1 parts I need to complete the set and if I remember right Lucky BOB has parts I'll need to get the truck up and running.

I'm just waiting for the price to be fair in my mind before I buy anything off E bag.

As they use to say keep the greasey side down and the sunny side up catcha on the flip flop, gosh I miss the old CB talk.

Guess I'm getting old.
