LMM 907LH

So, I have wanted a 907LH for a while. The SRCs don't have the little flippers on the back, and the LMM cars are SOOOOOOOO expensive.

But lo and behold.....a parts car showed up and now I actually own one (1) singular (not sensational) LMM car.



It will need serious modification. It's hugely heavy. Looking at the chassis, I am sure it would have run like a pig......but I am not going to bother. I am hoping that means I can learn from the experiences of others........ :roll:

I am thinking HRS material.........after I take some serious weight off the body. Before today, I figured that I might make it work in a Fly Classic class.........but I just can't see that happening with the body weight. Might be relegated to an Artin chassis......so it will run, but not be fast.

I wish Slot.It would make the other Matras......I want them, and the Renault Alpine A442, but I can't bring myself to buy another LMM car.

myself and ElSecundo have had some luck making a couple of these into fun runners with the weight, and the chassis. Mind you they won`t set any speed records, and take some time, and patients, but they are a joy to drive after you sort them out. I suppose the enjoyment comes mostly from driving a very cool car that doesn't mimic every other car out there. They have good and bad points, but unique all the same, and they sure are purdy !!

I would be interested in your mods. I figured at least gluing in the interior, removing the extra body weight in the wheels wells, and putting in good rear bearings. Plus standard Fly tuning (axles, wheels, chassis movement, etc). Is the motor mild? The slimline motors that Monogram/MRRC put in the Chaparral 2F and Ford J car are a bit zippy and considering the weight I was looking at converting to an S-can (don't want a large pile of momentum converted to a pile of parts at the end of the straight).

Hi goose.........thanks. I always ask to see......some mods make it in to reviews.....others not so much. So those will be helpful indeed.
I did in fact consider the SRC. I have a 907K short tail.....and it's very quick indeed. Very frankly, I am (perhaps overly so) budget minded....and wouldn't pay full price and couldn't find one inexpensively. Which is, incidentally, why I don't have one of those beautiful Alfas either.
When the LMM came up, I took the deal. Now I get to do the tune.......

Just a thought, but looking at the chassis and motor being inline.
Have you considered the Penelope Pitlanlane Competition inline chassis.
They are adjusable for wheel base and also with side pans.
Anyway just a though for you
