What single car type do you own the most of?

Not a surprise, but my largest field is Trans-Am. I've got 57 runners and 30 others in stages of completion that are a mixture of RTR, repaints and my own resin kits. Funny enough, it breaks out like this for the most popular:

Scalextric 1969 Camaros - 10
Scalextric 1969/1970 Mustangs - 13
Scalextric 1970 Camaro - 11

The one group that did surprise me were the Ninco Classics - I've somehow amassed 17 of them...

I haven't counted, but I would guess that there are equal numbers of Ford GT40's and Ferrari 512's, both in their various models and variations, but as a marque, Ferrari has to be the hands down winner- there are just so many years of production and so many great cars in each era. There's only one RTR car that I have every version ever made of, and that's my wonderful Chevrons. I love those little hellcats.

But these figures reflect 10 years of purchases. Today I buy very different models & brands. Very few, but occasionally expensive (often resin) cars.

I like Trans am 65 to 72. 32 Camaros and 28 mustangs. all are Scalextric and pioneer with some RMS. I also like oval track so in this I have 140 strombecker midgets ( all run) in stock form, and 28 in much modified form.

For me by far it is the Ford Mustang!! I have 25 and counting!! I am a big fan of Trans Am Racing so Mustangs and Camaros are plentiful in my collection. My favorite series of all time is the Can -Am series so I have a lot of those type cars --and of course I am a huge Nascar fan so I have a ton of those type cars vintage and current styles. I would like to find Nascar Trucks but am having a hard time finding even just bodies!! Oh well I'll keep looking.

For me, it's Corvettes. I have a C1 (in street trim), a Grand Sport (Kinda like a C2, only faster!), C3, (Greenwoods),a Fly C5 and two C6's,(Scaley and SCX).

Off the top of my head my top two by numbers would be:
1. Fly Lister Storm (21 different liveries + multiples)
2. Porsche GT1 98 (Fly and Slot.it Versions)

I didn't realize how many ford GT40's I had until this came out . They are the most popular cars in my house.
I have 7 , most are Scalextric and a MRRC MKIV and a Slot-it MK2. I have 12 Can-Am cars all together.
Love that series. I may need more IMSA cars ,like them a lot too.

I cut my 1:1 racing enthusiasm teeth in the sixties and seventies. Should it then be any surprise:

I have stated in the past that I am not a collector but somewhat a collector of the cars I race at club races. At the present I have four NSR Porsche 917s all with slightly different chassis, tire and motor configurations. Four Scaley. 1970 Camaros and four Slot it 956/962 Cars. Since I have to drive from 60 to 200 miles to compete I am very much in the belief that multiples of each class ensures that I will be able to race when I get there.

But I must say that of the three and others I have not mentioned the Slot It Porsche 956/962 is my favorite and with the new releases I must remind myself on a weekly basis that I am a racer and not a collector so please do not order.

I didn't start out to be a collector. During all the time that I raced 1/24th scale cars at commercial tracks I only owned what I needed to race with a couple of spares. When I started out in 1/32 I was the same way but in the end couldn't resist the beauty of the cars I was buying and for a while it got way out of control. I guess it's time to start trimming down the collection to less than 100 cars. When I get my act together I will post a list of those I can stand to do without but it is going to be hard to choose which ones stay and which ones go.
