The Parts Box Open Proxy is finished! In 35 degree Celsius heat we completed the last event on the Bullring. We decided that to run the race as time trials. It is impossible to pass without bumping the car ahead of you out of the way, and often all three cars end up out of their slots. You will see what I mean when Luf posts his short video clip of three cars on track at once.

We followed the same order as qualifying on the Targa, and ran each car for three minutes. Luf did the driving and was pretty well wiped by the time we finished. It is hard to not get dizzy and the heat didn't help at all. If we had tried to go longer we probably would have quit before it was done.

Here are the results, in order by the total number of laps. The fastest lap is there for your interest-

1. #45 Retro Racer 44 31.0 laps 5.67 sec. Turned laps in the 5s from the start and continued throughout.
2. #7 Slot Therapist 29.1 5.98 This was the first car to break into the 5s and did it on the last lap.
3. #44 Retro Racer 44 28.8 5.88 A couple of offs affected #44s score.
4. #3 Shotgun Dave 28.6 5.97 Had a bit of trouble crossing the tracks, caused a few offs.
5. No# Oldslotracer 28.5 6.95 Had a couple of roll offs.
6. #84 Strangebrew 26.5 6.94 Pretty consistent laps.
7. #55 Tusco Todd 26.3 6.37 Light front end, jumped the slot a few times when power came back on after crossover.
8. #45 Strangebrew 26.3 6.77 Actually tied, but faster lap broke the tie in Todd's favour.
9. #88 BTaylor 22.7 8.16 Light back end, spun sideways a few times, but no offs.

So there it is, P-BOP is in the books. I will post the last leaderboard up-date shortly. I only heard back from three people about the prize bucket choices, two said send me whatever, and one gave me a list. Tomorrow I will be packaging up your cars and prizes to ship home, and the prizes are all worth about the same, so I will use my discretion. There will be one prize for each car entered. I would also like to thanks Devis3d Designs for their goodie bags.

This has been fun, I hope to do it again in a year or so, eh?

Ok here are the leaderboard final results. Since it was my proxy I can't brag about my cars coming in First and Third, but i am sure if Harry's topless sedan had made it through, it would have won this thing.

Thanks to all of you who participated, and I hope you put lots of good parts into your parts box so you are ready for the next one.

Cheers,

Keith
