Hadn't had any Snow down here in the Piney Woods of East TEXAS but Heavy Frost;
It was down to 27 about 07:00 this AM And Night before last Wehad Winds Gusting to 30 - 40.
With all these Tall Pines that Dangerous. Power was out for about 4 1/2 + hrs. Back on just Cold.

I'm not kidding it was flickering between 44 and 45 degrees C yesterday where I was out working, thats about 118 F.
I'd have killed for a drop of snow.

With you there,Ted. Nowhere near as bad as the west, but tomorrow's forecast here is 38C with a relative humidity of 9%. That's enough to give our district the first code red fire day for our season. Fire crews are on standby and His Lordship is to be in the air for spotting duty from 9am.

At least the forecast for Christmas day is a gentle 24C at the moment.

Well the snow started at ten and my delivery company pulled me off the streets at 11. It looks like tonight' race is canceled due to the snow and the out of town drivers that show up to race.

Good news is the snow blower that has set for two years fired right up, gotta love Stabil! The glides for the auger box to slide on the pavement were worn out so out came my X wife's favorite cutting board the saw and the drill press. Now I have lovely new slides. I will go out later today to clean up the drive. It seems a waste to fire up a ten horse two stage 25 inch cut snow blower more than once a day if I don't have to.

Yeah, Moose is a regular "MacGyver" whether it's slots or 1:1. I'm one of those that would have been racing tonight if I didn't have to work. I live 30 miles North of town and had to be at work at 1:30; took the other half's 4wd Chevy pickup and left at 11:55 (it's normally a 45 minute trip).....rolled into the lot at 1:27. This is the annual "driver re-education" snowfall where everyone that forgot how, tries to drive like it's dry. Good time to be in the Body Shop business.

We had to cancel last night's Shoreline Model Raceways race. It was supposed to be just rain in my part of Connecticut, but we got snow to start with. I actually made it to the track and the driving was OK until I was almost there. I turned a corner and found that there was almost no grip at all, kind of like silicone tires on a dusty track. I think that the problem was that the temperature was right at the freezing point. I hung out at the track for an hour or so and headed home. The slippery section of the road was all slightly downhill, so I was not worried about getting stuck. I had to drive VERY slowly through that and a Jeep going the other way was stuck.
