Flyslot Ff 050 in Brabham Bt

Postby chappy » Fri Aug 14, 2015 7:12 pm

I have 2 of the new Flyslot Brabhams, I was getting ready for a race series and pulled one off the shelf.
Usual tuning and tires etc, and motor breakin.
I was running the motor at 3 volts only the back axle as resistance and gear breakin.
Everything was free.
I heard a pop and the motor had burned out. :o
So I took the next one out , did the same procedures and 3 mins in , pop again. Motor gone.
I didnt take them apart , but they were dead as a doornail.

I replaced them with the 18k MT, in both, did the breakins again and no problems. :D
I am thinking a bad run of Flyslot FF050 motors.
So I was wondering if anyone else had experienced a similar issue with theirs.

No sir. But then again I did not run them that long before swapping out as you did.

When I visited Doc we ran his and it seemed to be just fine and that was on AC power as well.

Interesting. Good thing you had back ups.

Yes very strange , the MTs work great in the cars, but I have not had any other issues with my Flyslot
F1s, with FF050s
Oh well likely a two off.
The MTs do the job admirably .

That is very strange. I have 12 Fly Slots that all have the same motor in the March chassis and have never had a failure.

No matter, the M/T will be awesome in it.
