TGIF - Ready for the weekend

Well...what a week indeed. First, want to thank ALL who participated in the auction. Can't say that enough really. To say we appreciated it is a big understatement.

Some new reviews have trickled out, trying to keep up and hope they help some of you out there.

Very soon you will be seeing a good amount of new releases pouring in and some very interesting announcements. We will do our best to keep it all coming, but remember we rely on some of you "lifers" out there. So if you read some interesting news we might have missed...post away.

Tonight I'm going on a "brass run" to the big city. Need to stock up because I have plenty to build.

And hopefully find time to do just that. Plenty of custom projects in the planning stages as usual...just need to get after them. But you know how that goes right?

Going to try and have a quiet weekend! Just some slot time, maybe some building, for sure some racing.
To much going on around here lately to just relax.
I see a BIG coffee, and a controller being the only thing I want to have in my hands this weekend.(no mowers, rakes, shovels, etc.)

I am heading to Toronto and then North this afternoon.
Visiting some old friends until Sunday morning.
No racing , no building , but Dining and leisure will be good with a visit.
I will try and find a K&S supplier while there to grab some brass though .
Sunday night will be prepping for our Ringwood event on Wednesday.
50s, early 60s, late 60s, and 70s F1 racing. I think this is Ringwood 12.
So certainly something to look forward too in the week ahead.

I had planned to go on a backpacking trip this past to my favorite place in the world, the Lost Coast of Northern California. But the air quality out west in general and my little place along the coast in particular has been terrible due to the many wildland fires going on. Why hike 20 miles to enjoy expansive vistas down the coastline when they are obscured by smoke? Since I am retired, rigid timelines don't apply. That means this trip can be postponed by a week or two or five so it's no big deal to wait a little longer. This has allowed time to work on long over due home maintenance projects and my current slot car track project which is a Scalextric digital one. Of course the prerequisite number of digital cars must be built to go with this track as box the stock cars as offered over the counter will never do. But 50's vintage Strombecker roadster bodies on modern digital chassis are the cat's meow.

Well, in a couple of hours I'll be off to Spa Francochamps for the Belgian GP. I doubt if there will be lots of sleeping tonight!

It's been a long week. 2-day business trip to MN (Sorry boys, I wanted to race, but they made me work this time - dangit!!!), bunch of family stuff to finish, bills to pay, blah, blah, blah.

Need to mow, pop out a few orders, put the final parts on my 1st Corvair together, and take the Fetching Mrs. Reinecke on a couple of 4x4 trails.

As I sit here typing this, there is a Corvair drying. Man! I had forgotten how good Future smells!

Well, now that I am kind a sorta back to normal, Hopefully I can get a few projects done also. I need to finish the interior print on the econoline and I've since started on a track cleaning vehicle (Thanks to Modeler Bob). Yesterday I had three teeth filled and for some reason that pain killer they use really knocks me for a loop. Anyway, Happy building and Racing this weekend.

Still pretty crazy here...
Working on getting the last of the Land Speed & Drag info posted, while also working on compiling the pics, video, etc from "ROAR - Round 3"!
The big distraction during all of this has been the roof tear off, decking and installation of a new standing seam metal roof on the house - which as of today is currently sitting at about 80% complete and is turning out to look pretty nice I think!

A couple pictures of how it sits from this morning (still have facia, soffits, etc to go - but it is shaping up!)
