this is how i started in the 1/32 world. mine had different cars but same track layout. i also got mine from carreraslots and i have been adding track to get me to where i am today..... oh and i buy cars too.

Super review Harry, Just looking at that figure eight set up takes you back to Christmas mornings long ago!
That is one heck of a deal for two awesome cars, and a track with lane spacing like that. I wish that kind of detail and quality would have been available back in the day! But it shows just how far the hobby has came.

I think a figure 8 is the best small track configuration. If I didn't have my routed track at home now I think I would do something just like this.

One reason for enjoying a Carrera set is the ease of unpacking ,setting it up and running Carrera's unmodified cars on it.The track is smooth and the cars are engineered to run great on it..You have the fun factor right out of the box..I had wood tracks,a lot of fun they are,but I'm back to kinda were we started.I find when folks come over they enjoy this type of set up better.With the stock mag set up the cars are just about flawless.Let them run a few laps that way then introduce them to some non mag cars..Plus you can run anything from 1/43 to 1/24 scale cars..It's hard to beat the price on a started set like this..The figure eight is the basic of all great sets..

Thats how I started . First it was the Digital Long Race Set and within 2 months a 18x8 table was built and the track grew to about 70ft of track which lasted about 4 months before I added another 11ft of track . The product sells itself , but I have built a great business relationship with Carrera Slots . Believe me this is not a commercial for them . They have for the last 3 yrs stood behind their product and have worked with me on replacing parts and even entire cars when a problem occurs . I just want to share these experiences with others out there that want to use the Carrera Brand and should support ALL dealers that handle this product . Harry you are a great ambassador for the hobby . From your reviews to your builds to your appreciation for good food lol thanks for keeping us interested in this so called love for toys .

Having a plastic track makes sense for testing cars for either new folks in the hobby or a plastic track at home to race on. Makes perfect sense!

I just recently made the switch to Carrera track and I couldn't be happier! All of my cars run smoother and they handle more realistically. It also is superior, electrically. I have about a 50 ft layout and no jumper wires needed. My other track had two sets of jumpers and still had a stretch where the cars would slow down with the throttles wide open.

I got back into this hobby with a Carrera track and have not regretted it. I have a 5' x 8' - 2 lane set up now and plan on a much larger 4 lane soon. Carrera track will be used again, although I painted mine and that really made a positive difference for me. Carrea cars are smooth running right out of the box, but our club does not run any Carrera classes, so my cars are just for my track.
