My budget was shot in just one click...but I had to have them.







Both cars are well done overall. The Sunoco car is likely Scalextric's release of year, but the Chamberlain car is an eye popper as well.

Those are both very good looking cars Harry, Its easy to see why you couldn't pass them up.

Decided to give them a closer look for those interested.

Few differences in the new from the original releases.



New driver. So long Mr. Bobble Head (blobby head, The Great Gazoo, etc) and hello new guy :)



Chassis redone to reflect the digital ready compatibility.



The magnets are different too for those that care. You notice the new chassis seems to have the pocket lowered, but it makes no difference, the old car has more downforce.



Other than that, wheelbase, motor, gearing (11/36) the same.

For some reason the transam cars just don't get old for me. I guess from a hobbist stand point it's a good thing when I say I've had trouble keeping up with the cars released. Thanks to Scaly Pioneer SCX and resin bodies I have over 50 of them now and I'll buy more. Love that Chamberlain car it's a must!

I am hearing reports of the new chassis magnet pocket dragging on some tracks.

It clears my Carrera well enough, but I can see it being a close call if you put smaller diameter tires on it.

Both of these are on my list and I am thrilled that Scalextric re-released the Penske car for all the new folks entering the hobby! Great job guys!

I just had to have the Chamberlain car as well. I put it on layaway at my local hobby shop. What's a couple of weeks? :lol:
