I took two sections of .064 x 1/2" brass, cut to four inches long to start. I then put them on top of each other and did the layout for motor mounts and axles using a 1/4" centerline splitting the side rails. Center punched and drilled the holes, then soldered in the axle tubes.rear tube cut for motor clearance, and added 3/16" bearing collars. the side rails will be drilled to reduce weight if needed. This design is old as slot racing itself, as a lot of very early cars had similar arrangements. it worked then, should work now.(I hope) Its no WISE engineering job, but it will do.
