Thanks for the review!
I am just starting to 'roll' these out! I figure there will lots of variations as I build up the library.
Again I am really just a hobbyist, and this is an extension of that hobby - not a big commercial concern. That said, the 3D printing allows for some volume - that is if someone needed a *bunch* of these pieces they could be reasonably delivered.
A couple quick comments on what you are looking at in the review:These inserts are sized to fit the CB Design 15x12 insert wheel. In the review they were cut down to fit the 15x11 - it does show that the material while hard and a little brittle can certainly take some grinding, milling, sanding etc.
If you run these there may be some waxy residue from the 3D printing process that needs to be cleaned before paint is applied. They seem to be compatible with all paints but do a test on the back to be sure.
You can clean the 3D printed wheels and wheel inserts using Acetone.
These inserts are sized for a tight press fit in the rim. If need be, the inserts can be glued in place, or a thin piece of transparent Scotch tape can be partly wrapped around the insert.
Also, the little valve stem aligns with the grub screw position. As a racer, it helps to locate that mounting set screw when you are at the race track or in the heat of a race.
3D PRINTED 'WIDE-5' INSERTS ALIGNMENT-
The alignment should be seen in this pic of a raw unpainted Wide-5 insert. Thanks again for the interest and there should be more stuff to come. I will have to update my website - but you can contact me about these or anything else.
