70-72 Camaro dirt track project HELP!!!

Postby jcis4me » Tue Oct 20, 2015 6:30 pm

A co-worker who is also my mail lady, saw my track and all the cars I have made, and asked me if I or some one could build the car her husband raced a number of years ago. It is a 70-72 camaro, dirt tracker. I asked her for pic's and should get them tomorrow. It is going to be a anniversary gift for him for his desk. A 1/24 would probably be a better size for a desk. I mentioned to her all the great builders here on HRW and maybe we could get together and build this car!

That is such a cool idea!

Waay, your screen name says it all, seeing as you jumped on that 5 minutes after the request was made.
Wonderful!

Seems fairly easy on the colors and numbers, btw the car is blue on top and white bottom. Was looking on sleeze bay found a couple of 72's? Just need to "cut and paste" the body a bit??? Would a regular model body work? if so I will purchase and send to whomever for the cutting and pasting!

Marty, the one with the blue motor is an H&R, the second one is a Protrack. The aluminum body mounts on the H&R may or maybe not be too wide for the Camaro body.

Could this just be a static model?

Yes it will be a static model I was just thinking I could have him over sometime maybe to run it on my track, but you know how life is he probably wouldnt make it over anyway so lets do a static. Also that is why I offered up the pro trac that I have had for years and never did anything with it.
I'll keep events posted as to when the model gets here, and go from there!
Thanks Again guys!

Alrighty then!
Got the car, Dave says he'll help, saw that Rob Way 2 much says he'll help, anybody else???
Kinda want to make this build like a proxy, except it will be a group build, everybody adding their own touch to the car, Adding their finite expertise perfection to it.
Any more takers??? Im footing the model chassis and shipping to the first point of the build.
Any other takers????
