carrera track layout advice

Hi all

As a newbie made an initial post : new to hobby and forum. After a lot of research and viewing this forum I have decided to go with carrera track over the other brands. I really like the look and features of carrera the best. Here is my dilema. I have limited space for my track set up. 5x9 ping pong table set up on top of my pool table. I am looking for a carrera track set up that will fit in that space that will include a pit lane as well as , atleast 3 lane changes. Wanting to know if anyone has figured out this type of setup and is using it or has seen one anywhere. Thank you all in you in advance for your help and advice with this - Tom

Tom, see if you can find a copy of Racing and Collecting Slot Cars. In that book there were several ping pong table size layouts. I used the Ascari/ Indy layout and it was fun to race on (though i had a bit more space as i run scaley track).

I really like Carrera but a 5 x 9 table size will be really tight especially with the pit lane. If it all possible, I would look at increasing your table size. Perhaps an extension could be made to attach to one end of the ping pong table to get a little extra length and/or width. I have been using folding tables with good results that may also work for you.

By using corner lane changes you can get more lane changes in a set since they don't require having 2 straight sections only 1 straight before a curve pieces.
