I learned to drive in that car, push button transmission and all. It was bronze with a gold foil stripe down the sides. Learning to parallel park in that booger was tough. When the trooper rode with me on the driver's test, he said he wasn't sure he could have parked that rascal. I drove home barely touching the ground I was so high on having done the driver's test with 100%.

Cool story. I had a 57 Savoy about 20 years ago. I have a chance to buy it back really cheap. It is a 4 door with a flat head six though.

By the time I drove it, the heavy doors would drop over an inch when opened, and there was a technique involved in lifting to close them. I loved that car.
