Carrera 77 Firebird Trans-Am

I don't usually pick up street models but this is a Christmas gift for my grandson. Out of all the cars in the new catalog, this was first on his list.

This car looks great to me. Paint, detail, overall well done.

No surprises in the chassis area. Standard components all around.

Runs just fine. It's not for the wood track but it could be with little effort. Wheels/tires seem very round and just a little sanding would have it riding just fine.

Not a new model of course, just a quick share for those interested.

Now to wrap it up and get it under the tree before I break it racing it :)

Hey Harry, the chassis on that Bird looks flatter and more conventional like other manufactures (As opposed to the "Channel" type Carrera uses with the high CG). Can you confirm this and is this a new direction for them?

Well, it isn't flat by any means. BUT it does not have that "hot rod rake" as I call it. It sits pretty level.

This mold/car has been around a few years. So given what kind of car it is, it's not bad. In fact it looks better than other street models I have seen in the past.
