i´m using photobucket for the pictures, worked great for years.
interesting slotcar set - i´ve seen such a setup before, but can´t remember where. Anyway, braids should work better than those metal bars.

Hi guys, looks pretty much Cartronic 1/43 cars with different decals.
They got two magnets, another in front of motor like in that picture.
I got the Jaguar E-type and I replaced those metal pickups with braids.
I think I read that Cartonic is new brand made by ex-Carrera owner or something.

The cars cost $10. Even if they are parted out they are worth that. They probably have an FF30 motor, gears, rims and a guide mechanism that can be tweaked to something better. I build my own cars as well, so that is why I have no issue trying them out. As soon as I saw these for this price, I figured there wasn't much of a downside buying them and having a look at them. I will past judgement after I have seen them.

Looks like they are trying a HO style pick up on guide flag. HO style pickups have been around for years as well. With the lighter weight of a small car, braids can be troublesome and that is why HO pickups are lightly sprung brass strips

Again I will wait and actually see the function before I pass judgment on the design. In the video there clearly is some issue with the front end ride height, so I agree that these may in fact not fit the bill out of the box. Doesn't mean the whole design is failure. Probably has copper plate replacing wires between the motor and the pickup shoes. As I builder see very little downside in having a look at these. IF there is an easy fix, I will pass this on to the distributor for future consideration.

Cars arrived today. I had ordered the F1 cars and unfortunately the front wheels are attached to the Body and not the chassis. In some respects this is not so bad as it will allow me to set the front axle at the proper height to have the front wheels rolling on the ground.

Over all not a bad set up and the guide works fine.

Chassis looks a little like the INDY CARS that came with the INDY 500 SET by ARTIN....front wheels were attached to the body like those!
