Redo of Jaguar XJ220

I got a perfect window from martink. Thanx a mill.
Painted her white and gave her a black roof.



Got my HP deskjet printer going today and printed the decals. Gave it a clear coat and left it to dry.


With the heat wave and temps of 36 to 41 degrees it dried fast and I managed to put up the decals.


Now for some fine cut out and finishing touches, before she goes for a final clear coat.

Nice job, Gavin. One of may favorite cars. I put and HRS chassis under mine and it went as well as it looked. Wish I had kept it...

My next step will be a first attempt at a pc board chassis with a sidewinder motor.

I have one of those but have been holding off on doing anything with it as I heard that it will be produced by slot.it in the near future.

I did some research and discovered that it is Avant Slot and not slot.it that has plans to release the XJ220 in 2016. That should be an awesome product if their recent releases are any indication of it's quality.

That wing is a cutdown of a Carrera Superbird. That car had four different versions of exhaust pipe. There were three different ones that came through the rear panel like that. I bent aluminum tubing to do it.

I always had the idea to re-do a xj-220, but your amazing Martini livery has finally convinced me !

LanciaB, thanx a mill.
I can not take credit for designing the decals. I as you was inspired by a fellow racer at the SCI Forum who did a scrstchbuild of a XJ220.
He posted his design on SCI, where I got the template. I resized it to fit my car as close as possible, then printed it on clear waterslide decal paper, using my inkjet printer. After printing a left it to dry for a couple of hours, then with good quality clear spray, sprayed a light clear coat over the print. This is to seal the inkjet print.
Cut them out, soak them in water and place them carefully. Let it all dry for a couple of days and the a final clear coat on the entire car.
Thats how I did it.
