My family attended Austin's big night this evening and had a great time. There were hundreds of people that showed up, the band was excellent, they did photos of everyone and Austin was so, so happy. He's a great, goofy young man!

He just got back from seeing his very best friend in Montana for a few days. He is taking Victoria out for Valentines (just as friends so neither of them is alone), and then he is taking the Amtrak to Chicago to visit another close friend for a few days.

His parents were happy, but cracks showed up occasionally as is expected. While he's managing at the moment, they hope he can make his 21st Birthday in April.

I am very sorry to share with you all that Austin passed away this afternoon with Victoria by his side. In one of his more lucid moments this morning he'd told his mom that he couldn't go just yet until he married her and that he needed to get a ring tomorrow. Knowing Austin, this was 100% serious and also 110% him giving cancer the middle finger. He has asked for some of his ashes to be placed on a firework on the 4th of July so he can go "out with a bang". Again, in the very short time we got to know him, that actually makes complete sense.

Thanks to all of you that have asked how he's been doing. The answer is that now he's doing fabulous and is no longer sick. For his family and friends it will take a little longer to return to normal.

I would personally like to thank all of you that participated in the John Reinecke Memorial Raffle. Thanks to your generosity, Austin was able to do some really cool stuff in the last few weeks: travel to MT to visit his best friend, take Victoria out for Valentines Day, host his own "Going Away Party" attend our SuperBowl Party, and he just got back from visiting Chicago last week where he had a great time as well.
