You may need to scale it down a bit as the track is not that big. Smokey would be proud if it were prepared as he would have done it, but a little smaller. He must have made a right turn at some point in his life.

Keep an eye open for the 90's NASCAR. That was my favorite time in NASCAR and plan on running it plenty. I have 7 of them in the building stages already. If I would quit working on things that make money and get back to the hobby thing I would have some cool stuff to run. At this point I think mid year is looking like the time for 90's NASCAR to get in full swing.

Made some progress on the walls over the weekend.....

This one shows Tom doing a sucky job. I meant using the vacuum.


Now while I like a gal that shows a little leg, this is going to be a lady. Preview of her in her skirt.


With a lot of help from friends and my wife the walls are well underway. For the first stage we have 4 more pieces to put up. Then they all need to be trimmed. You will notice in the pictures that we have lots of variation in the walls. That is because of all of the elevation changes in the track. The plastic was cut into oversized strips and attached to the track. When we get them all on we will go back through and trim them to size using the track surface as a guide. The plan is to guide the rotozip along the wall riding on the track surface to cut the top edge. Then use the top edge of the wall to guide the rotozip along the track to cut the bottom edge of the wall. Will it work? watch to see.

Thank you. Tom and I have spent a lot of time on it and we are proud of it, but it always great to hear from others as well. I hope you have the opportunity to check it out first hand someday.

What part of VA. is Chesterfield in? I'm a Navy vet and spent my in port time in Virginia Beach at NAS Oceana. Chesterfield sounds familiar, but I can't think of why.

Chesterfield is a very old agricultural area southwest of Richmond. My wife's family has been here for almost 400 years. By now, you'd think they would have some money...

Were you ever at Keesler? I was a lifeguard on the beach at the end of the runway. I watched bikinis and airplanes the whole time.

I just finished testing the gears that came in. With a 9/28 setup, this chassis is super quiet and HAULS. Snappier and better lap times then the original 4.

I guess we will just test the variety of cars we have and see how it goes? The General's 1:1 car accident has put the brakes (ahem) on my slot budget for awhile. So what I have is what I have to bring. I am just guessing, but pretty sure we can have some fun.

We rented a townhouse just blocks from the loop at the end of the beach. Not many places that we didn't go to. That was back in the early 90's. Man how I wish I could watch F14's fly again. Back then I never could have imagined they would go away so soon. We also rented a house on Michigan Ave. just of Oceanic Blvd. Nothing like the smell of JP5 in the morning air with your coffee to get you going in the morning.

Is everyone OK?

I did some testing with the Piranha motor in a H&R. 9/26 gearing and it runs hand in hand with the MT5. A little snappier off the corner making it touchier to drive, but lap times almost the same.

Karl, the latest and greatest at the time was a Grumman F9F Cougar. The most exciting takeoffs were near vertical screamer T-28s being ferried somewhere by hotshots showing off.

No. Piranha is the 21K motor you used in the Showdown car. It's inexpensive, and works great.

In fact, I will swap my motor out to the Piranha this evening and test. Guess it makes sense to use a motor we can actually purchase.

Good point, I was guessing you guys had MT5 spares or something. Good to know about the Piranha.

I'm ok with the Piranha motor. I stuck one in to see what it was all about and it was all good. Ban news is that I only have one and just put my SCC order in today. Do you have one a guy can buy? I am taking care of materials for Chance so he can build one and I had the MT5 for him, but don't have the fish. If not I will call the fine folks at SCC and get one coming for him.

On the subject of SCC.... They now have the H&R chassis in stock. I ordered 2 of them today along with the PGT tires to go with it. I also found the Parma guides I was looking for. They do so much for our hobby and are great folks to deal with. I can't tell you how happy I am that they are getting more and more 1/24 scale items in. At this rate they will soon be my one stop shop for the items I am always ordering. Thanks guys.

As for the video..... You wont need to wait much longer. I cant imagine that we wont post pictures and videos of the racing action on the 21st. Thanks for the kind words. We have worked long and hard to get to this point and it is nice to know that the work shows well.
