Last night, Dixon John stopped in for a visit. He is on the road a lot for his job, but when he is home he stops by when he can.
I had the recently tuned Fly Lola Classic and the model I had done before it out on the track to test run them.

Decided to give them a run. Although we only went at it for short time...that short time was a hoot. We sliced and diced and really pushed them hard. Pit Stop! Tire cleaning and back out. Another pit stop. Back at it.

That short little impromptu "race" was what I tuned these cars for.
All the expense of the restoration/tuning was worth it to me in just that ONE little battle. They were tuned to play with after all. Just watching the cars perform as I had hoped and then the fun of slot combat. John punting me into Dead Man's curve was the highlight :)
No lap timer, NO rulebook.

Just one of a thousand sessions that has taken place here over the years and look forward for the next one.
In between these times I'll tune or build other models. I'm not doing all of it to sell them or just to photograph and put away.
They shall stay at the ready, waiting for the next willing racer to walk through the door and we can start the engines.

The cars are cool, but it takes good people to make them FUN.
