I've been experimenting around for a couple of weeks now using a FC130 motor in a slot.it anglewinder pod with great results. The motor is supported on the can end only using the screw holes provided in most FC130 motors. These motors, at least the 21.5k rpm type, don't have so much torque as to cause wheel hop problems and they have a velvety smooth power band with quick acceleration on my mdf track. Several of my cars that had either flat 6 motors (Porsche 911 GT1 98) or other high rpm FK180 motors such as in my MrSlotCar McLaren F1GTR run much smoother now and are turning quicker laps. The top end on the straights may be a little slower but the handling in the corners more than makes up for it. I wonder if Slot.It could be persuaded to manufacture a motor pod for the FC130 motor in the anglewinder configuration. I think if others of you tried setting up a FC130 motor in an existing anglewinder pod you will appreciate the difference as I have. I think Marty Stanley has been conducting experiments along the same line too.
